Saint - derived from the Latin sanctus, the word itself means holy; however, this word has come to mean much more within the Christian tradition. To be a saint, then, is to be a good and holy person and to align one's motives and actions with the Divine Will of God. As Catholics, we believe that it is through the grace of God that a person is admitted to Heaven and becomes a saint. The Church recognizes exceptionally holy men and women through the process of canonization; however, it is important to note that canonization itself is not what makes a Saint - this power belong to God alone. So, how do we grow in holiness and become more like the Saints that have gone before us? How do we listen for and act on the Will of God? What practical steps can we take to be holier individuals? What does it take to awaken the saint that is within each of us?

At this year's retreat, we will examine three key areas of Catholic spirituality and provide retreatants with practical ways in which they can grow in holiness. Do we make room for prayer in our lives, or is this something that we "squeeze in" when we have time? Do we practice the virtue of temperance, or do we lack self-discipline? Do we follow Jesus' commandment to love our neighbor, or are we often selfish in our actions? Over the course of the weekend, we will try to answer these questions and look for ways that we can all improve and grow in virtue.

The retreat runs from approximately 7 p.m. on Friday night until after lunch on Sunday afternoon. While most people arrive between 7 and 8 p.m. on Friday, some people find that, due to work, they are unable to make it during that window. If this is the case for you, we are able to accomodate your arrival as late as midnight on Friday night or on Saturday morning before 9 a.m.

The Spring Retreat is one of the most popular events each year and it regularly sells out. We are moving to a new retreat center this year that has expanded capacity, so we hope to be able to accommodate everyone that wants to come. Not only is our new retreat center larger and nicer, but it also has the added benefit of being cheaper, so we have lowered the price of the retreat by about 20%. Register by March 28 and pay only $110. All registrations after March 28 will be $130. The final deadline to register is Wednesday, April 9. Your fee includes:

  • 2 nights lodging in cabins with amenities
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday
  • Breakfast and lunch on Sunday
  • Snacks all weekend
  • All retreat materials

The weekend will include fun, games, fellowship, spiritual enrichment and much more.
