Frequently Asked Questions
What is a "podcast?"
In short, a podcast is a digital recording of an audio program made available on the internet for downloading to a computer or personal audio player, such as an iPod.
What is the St. Dominic's Podcast?
It is perhaps not uncommon for us to think that the readings we hear at mass on Sundays are little more than stories that priests sometimes talk about in a homily. In reality, though, these readings can have very real implications for our own lives as lay people in the Catholic Church and in the world. How, then, can we experience the Living Word of God in our daily lives? Wouldn't it be nice to hear how other people are taking these readings and putting their messages into practice? This is exactly what the St. Dominic's Podcast sets out to do. Each week, a St. Dominic's parishioner will offer their own response to the Sunday readings by providing examples from their own lives of the Scripture in action. Each episode includes musical selections from the St. Dominic's Solemn Choir, selections from the Sunday readings, and a reflection by a lay person.
Who writes the reflections?
Each week we invite someone to write and record their own reflection on the Sunday Mass readings. These are all real people that you probably see in the congregation at mass every Sunday. These are men and women of all ages, from every walk of life, who want to share their personal experience of the Scripture with the world.
