Making lunch for the family shelter. Attending the "Shadows to Light" Lenten Retreat
OUR MOST RECENT MEETUP
We hung out with Fr. Stephen, the newest Dominican Friar on staff at St. Dominic's, and played a Catholic version of the classic game-show "Family Feud" with saints' prayer cards and rosaries for prizes. Team Jesus competed against Team Schwartz. I won't tell you who won.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
BABYSITTING DURING MARRIAGE RENEWAL DINNER, Feb. 4: We are providing child-care for the parents who are attending the Valentine's Day-themed renewal dinner on Feb. 4th. Teens are responsible for planning the activities and games for the 10-15 kids that will be in our care in the parish nursery and adjoining room in the school. Free pizza dinner for the volunteers.
SOUPER BOWL COLLECTION, Feb. 4-5: For the second year in a row, Youth Ministry is making announcements after all Masses on Super Bowl Sunday and collecting donations afterwards (in soup pots) for the hungry that are served by our parish's Community Service program. Donations can be canned food or money. Teen volunteers will get first dibs on this year's YM t-shirt, $10 per shirt. Last year, we raised upwards of $4500.
MAKING DINNER FOR THE HOMELESS, Feb. 10: From 5:30pm-8:30pm, we'll join the teens at Sherith Israel and Calvary Presbyterian in making a hot dinner for the folks who are staying at the temporary homeless shelter at First Unitarian Church. We will have some time for prayer and reflection on a Bible story about serving God's people.
For these and all events, RSVP with Michael at dre@stdominics.org.
GENERAL INFORMATION
